The Trolls movies are based on the "Troll Doll", created in 1959 by a Danish lumberjack named Thomas Dam.

The original Trolls dolls, also called "Dam Dolls", were of very good quality and had hair made of pure sheep's wool and glass eyes. Its sudden popularity, along with an error in the product's ownership rights, caused imitations and lower quality copies to flood the market.

Troll dolls became one of the fashionable toys in the United States, from the fall of 1963 to 1965. With their brightly colored hair and smiling faces, they were found in all stores in the country and were children's favorites. who collected them.

In 1964 they appeared in Life and Time magazines, in articles in which it was commented that they brought "very good luck" to their owners.

They came back into style in short periods of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, with as many as ten different manufacturers. Also known as "Wishniks", "Treasure Trolls", "Norfins" and other names, it was not until 2003 when an act of the US Congress allowed Elvio's Danish family to recover their copyrights in that country and become once again the only official manufacturer.

Many people collect troll dolls and the originals reach a very high value today. Some collectors have thousands of them. They come in multiple sizes, from very, very small, to about 30 cm. or even more.

Since 2015 there has been a new version of Troll. GoodLuck Troll was transformed from a toy into a decorative object and in recent years has become an icon of Scandinavian design. The current troll is an object of decoration and collection. It is made of resin and the hair is natural sheep wool.

But without a doubt, the original troll doll of the woodcutter Thomas Dam has not yet lost its essence or charm.

A troll is called (from the Norwegian "troll", supernatural being), beings belonging to a mythical anthropomorphic race (Having a human shape or appearance) from Scandinavian folklore. In Scandinavian mythology, they are evil beings that live in forests or caves.

A trolls story

Once upon a time there was a group of trolls who lived in an enchanted forest. They were funny little trolls, with blue, green and red skin and long, bushy, brightly colored hair. The trolls lived in small houses made of leaves and branches and spent their days playing and getting into mischief.

One day, while exploring the forest, the trolls discovered a magical tree. It was a beautiful tree with a thick trunk and very bright green leaves. The trolls realized that every time they touched the tree, it granted them a wish.

Excited by this new adventure that they were beginning, the trolls began to visit the tree more and more frequently and make wishes. One troll wished for a bigger house, another wished he had more friends, and another wished he had a garden full of delicious food.

But soon, the trolls realized that their wishes had unexpected consequences. The troll who wanted a bigger house now had a house so big that he couldn't find his things. The troll who wished he had more friends now had so much traffic at his house that he couldn't sleep. And the troll who wanted to have a garden full of delicious food, now had so many animals in his garden that wanted to eat it, that he could no longer grow anything.

The trolls learned a valuable lesson about the power of their wishes and decided to be more careful with them. From that day on, every time they visited the magic tree, they made their wishes with great wisdom and gratitude. And so, they learned to live happily ever after in their enchanted forest.
